Feel like going out for dinner but don’t want to schlep all the way to Naples? Yeah, me too. After all, dining out should be a treat — not an hour car ride.
A lot goes into a great restaurant besides good food. How’s the ambiance, for example? Does it get too crowded? Can I hear my spouse over the music? Although, maybe you could do without the same old conversation — in which case, I know a place for that too.
Keep scrolling to check out my favorite restaurants in Estero, including Coconut Point and Miromar Outlets. Whether you’re looking to wear that new tropical sundress or haul the whole family out for an early dinner, you’ll love these restaurants that are so close to home.

For a classy date night
1. Divieto Ristorante
Divieto Ristorante whisks diners back to 1920s New York with its sumptuous black leather banquettes, antique tray ceiling, and exposed brick.
If you want to enjoy delectable Italian bites like gnocchi pesto or lemon-butter sea bass, make sure you follow the dress code. Classy gear only, people.
For the craft beer lovers
2. Oak & Stone
Okay, I know this is supposed to be about food; but Oak & Stone has a self-serve brew wall with 40-60 craft beers on tap. Better book an Uber.
You’ll also find surprisingly healthy bites like the citrus power bowl, in addition to your more casual American fare. The outdoor patio is unexpectedly lush, and it’s easy to forget that you’re actually in a parking lot.
For a quick trip to europe
3. De Adriatico Restaurant
So technically, this one’s located in Fort Myers — but it’s definitely in Estero’s backyard. Despite the convenient location, you’ll feel like you stepped inside a charming restaurant on the tranquil shores of the Adriatic Sea.
Delicious Mediterranean bites include stuffed fiocchetti, punjene paprike European stuffed peppers, and more. Bonus points if you know what that means.
For a classic steakhouse joint
4. Connors Steak & Seafood
Feeling unadventurous — but still seeking a really great meal? Connor’s Steak & Seafood is another favorite spot located in Gulf Coast Town Center in nearby Fort Meyers. This classy steak joint offers a simple but elegant ambiance with wood and stone details.
Thanks to their wood-fired grills, dishes like the New York Strip and blue lump crab cakes are always cooked to perfection. Even my mother-in-law loves this place, and she’s what we call a Naples foodie.
For authentic Italian Cuisine
5. Caffé da Michele
Want an unpretentious spot where the food is truly the star of the show? Look no further than Caffé da Michele in Miromar Outlets.
Expect homemade pasta, authentic selections, and personable service. If you’re lucky, you might even find that you have this hidden gem all to yourself for the night. That’s right, you introverts. Get moving.
For Something out of the ordinary
6. El Gaucho Inca Estero
Sick of boring old steak and seafood? Go for the mouthwatering fare at this family-owned authentic Peruvian restaurant.
Guests love the shrimp sampler, empanadas, and oh-so-delicious parrilladas. Plus, if you’re one of those weirdos who like to take pictures of your food (guilty as charged), than you’ll love the bright hues and beautiful plating.
For a special occasion
7. Ruth’s Chris Steak House
I know, I know, I already included a steak house. But this one’s really fancy. The main dining room feels like a sumptuous steak house got a South Florida makeover. Think light, airy — but also classic.
If you feel like indulging in the tomahawk ribeye or porterhouse for two, just make sure you have cash left over for that built-in swimming pool.
For the only hip place in estero
8. Pezzo Pizza + Bar
It’s hard to explain but Pezzo Pizza + Bar just doesn’t feel like your typical Southwest Florida joint. It’s hip. It’s trendy. And you just might find some ex-New Yorkers at the bar.
Since this is an article about restaurants, I’ll recommend any one of their unique pizza choices. But just between us, take a look at their craft cocktail list. You’ll be glad you did.
Finally…a place for the kids
9. Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse
That’s right, this kid-friendly place never disappoints. Bring your whole family to the hibachi grill for the only place where it’s okay to play with your food. Hello, onion choo choo train.
Of course, if you’re looking for more of a date night vibe, just head over to the sushi lounge where’s there less fun but also less noise.
